The Consulate is an important building available to a Asian civilizations, allowing the Japanese, Chinese and Indian players to establish relations with European nations. This provides a powerful civilization bonus. When a player builds up Export resource, it can be spent to purchase specialized European military units and improvements. Export is gained automatically by your Villagers. The more villagers you have working and the more advanced in Age your civilization is, the faster you gain Export.
